Fashionista In A window - Paris.

On another note: I find myself in a bit of a quagmire. Listen to this. So popular is the Leonardo da Vinci show at The National Gallery that tickets have now been sold out and are being flogged on eBay for tripple-digit sums (original price 16GBP).

Am I a culture vulture or a philistine? I ask this because I am in possession of one ticket and are sorely tempted to cash it in, especially when I read about the eyewatering profit you can make. I would have more than enough left to get myself a Christmas present like no other...did someone say iPad 2?

Am I sullying the name of art by throwing in my lot with the profiteering philistines? That of course, dear reader, depends on your highest offer.

Wow, that's sheer insanity! It must be a very short-run exhibition, is that right? I can't believe people would be willing to pay triple figures for a flogged ticket.

I understand your predicament. As someone who lives off €60 a week - a couple hundred quid would go a long way.

I wouldn't worry about feeling like a philistine. You can probably download a 'da vinci' app for that new ipad anyway .

LOL! I've heard about the insane prices on eBay. I have secured tickets for the original price £16 for January. I think my BF bought them in the last moment. ;)

If you have spare one - why don't you sell? And you can blog from iPad! ;) X

Quite the dilemma - the more relaxed side of me would decide which would give me the more pleasure - the da vinci or the ipad - and then just go with it - the businesswoman - would sell - have a good weekend xx

Fabulous shot! And I've heard so much about the Da Vinci exhibit, I'm tempted to give you an extra pound for it ;-) In a way, it is great to hear that people will hawk Art tickets as they would a rock a concert. Sadly, in the US, art appreciation is not part of broad popular culture. Curious to see what you do with your ticket! And I'd really love to hear how the exhibit is. xxx

Really great photo! Can't wait to hear what you decide about the ticket.

Be a culture vulture. When will you ever get the chance to see such a complete da Vinci exhibition, (complete with all the international loans) again?? You won't. Go.
I'm kind of heartened to hear that some people will pay so much to see it too.

David! I am SHOCKED!!! Do you know that there are only TWENTY THREE Da Vinci paintings IN EXISTENCE!?? Because the man had SO MUCH GOING ON that he just didn't have time to paint much? And do you know that just STANDING AND LOOKING AT A DA VINCI PAINTING is perhaps one of the greatest experiences that LIFE HAS TO OFFER?

Go to the museum. Look at Da Vinci's all day.

Tell your grandchildren about it.

I envy you more than I can say.

well that's just the way it works, mention them. not saying i like it but you have to be realistic. there's much more i'd like to see at the louve that mona lisa but everyone flocks to that. people like what they are told is good.

Ah-mazing photo! Love her hair. As for your ticket selling conundrum, at the end of the day, who do you really have to answer to? No one! If you'd be happier with an ipad than seeing the exhibit, then sell that ticket guilt free. You'd clearly be granting someone who desperately wants to see it the opportunity to do so. You both win.

Oh, she's dressed impeccably! I wish I could wear neon that well. It's perfect with the black mini skirt and the simple yet bold cuff. And I would have to say choose what you would like best. There's nothing wrong with making a profit off of someone who REALLY wants to go.

Let's start with the easy part: I love this picture and this nice girl manages to sport neon with great style. As for the ticket, that's a difficult question David...I'm with Claire: go for the option that gives you the more pleasure. And let us know which one you choose!

As for the ticket - sell, sell, sell.

Wellst, considering that I recently went to a clothing swap to find females collecting items not to wear but to sell on eBay, I say you're not alone in your thoughts. If you feel that you will get a huge profit from it, sell it.
