Portobello Saturdays - London.
This little enclave in west London's Notting Hill that includes Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove is such a major tourist attraction that one can barely move especially on Saturdays. The eclectic mix of merchandise for sale attracts such a diverse range of interesting characters that give me much joy to interact with. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Portobello Saturdays...

I adore Portobello. Always visited that part of London when I lived there. So nice to see how colourful life is there.

Perfect mix of people.
These photos are so inspiring.
Whenever I see that iconic 'Portobello Rd' sign, the song of the same name is like a sound track in my head - from the film 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks'!
The second photo of the market trader smoking reminds me very much of some of the images from one of my favorite photographic books capturing an older London. The book is called 'Covent Garden' by Clive Boursnell - and features the Covent Garden of the 60s. It's beautiful, as are your photos.
great photos..love 6,7,11 the most
What a mint coat!
Love it!

David, you presented us with such a great selection of people, details and colours. Portobello is an amazing area, but you need a great eye to capture all of these.
These pictures are amazing! Love the different styles!
Holy crow I wish I had your photographic eye. These are gorgeous, but I especially love the one of the blonde with the neck tattoo & the helmet.
Love the different styles, Portobello is always such a treat. Seeing this, makes me miss London.
Great story here David. Wonderful details as always. Xxxx
Well now I have to go back to London just to go here. What a neat spot and I pretty much love everyone's fashion taste here. Do you have to look radical to walk around the streets??? :) Hope you're having a nice Monday!
I miss London so much!

Fantastic! This makes me so homesick for Notting Hill. We lived just around the corner for 15 years, first in an old convent, then Pembridge Square, then Ladbroke. That green-blue coat is sublime and love seeing people laughing and drinking outside.
london markets rule that's for sure

So wonderful! I've always wanted to trawl the Portobello market. I got a feel for it through your images, particularly that one-man band and the amazing blue lady! xx

Good grief, how are Londoners so stinking cool? I am convinced that I'll have to move to Europe to find a straight guy with style. You found some prime examples! Oh, and that black wool coat with the leather sleeves? What a dream!
Trying to remember why I opted for academia when I could be lounging about doing something less...academic!
You couldn't have picked a better place. I recall it well. Such stylish dressers
Oh how i wish I were there!!!
