It is timeless. Chanel (like Hermes), has worked incredibly hard to not make it just another It-Bag.

I guess cause it's timeless. I don't really care much for Chanel. My sis, on the other hand, loves it! I mean, when it's worn together with a nice outfit, I compliment. But besides that, I just walk right past the store without looking in.
I have to admit it's on my wish list of "investment" pieces too. It's truly a classic that I'll enjoy for years to come - assuming I can still afford to eat after I buy it!

honestly, i'm not sure. and it seems you see it everywhere now, which makes it less appealing to me anyway.

Dunno. The excitement about this bag is lost on me. I agree that it's probably a logo thing. I think if I were looking for that type of bag, I would be able to score something similar (and cuter) for a LOT less money!

I think some classic brands are similar to buying a watch, it's a good investment and one that can be used for "money" if you need to pawn it later.. lol It's the classic-ness of the brand and their long standing that's so alluring.
I love my Chanel Jumbos, they are versatile, and go well with both casual and dressier outfits.

I have this bag. Purchased at Harrods over Ten years ago. I stopped wearing it. Every second girl in Paris has one - for me that's off putting. It's now at the back of my wardrobe. I prefer antique Chanel bags from my grandmother;-)
