High End and High Drama at Westminster - London.

Unless you have been living under a rock, I'm quite sure you have heard or seen footage of Wendi Murdoch putting herself in harm's way to defend her eighty-year old husband, Rupert, from what appeared to be a member of the public trying to throw pie at him during the phone hacking hearings in Westminster yesterday.

Regardless of what your opinion is of the whole matter involving him or his organisation's practices, I had sympathy for him as a human being and also an appreciation of what true love is in the case of Wendi defending her husband.

Incredible! Love the last pair of shoes. And yes I had heard about the cream pie incident... although you have to admit there's a little bit of humor in that! ;)

Regardless of what opinions we have we have to have respect for other people, and throwing a pie in someone's face is just tacky, and the onus is more on the person who's throwing it, you can't win an argument with violence.

To be fair that type of shit has made Murdoch's career when it's happened to others. But yeah, it's tacky (which alludes to the point I made above - tacky journalism for tacky acts of rebellion) and there are better ways to make your point. Admittedly, despite joining in with the humorous cries of 'thai bride protects her investment' she does actually seem genuinely in love with him and rightly battered the potential threat to his life :) Entertaining viewing.

That last pair of shoes is absolutely awesome. Witch material!

I just watched the video on the Murdoch incident. She has great reflexes. Like you said he is human and should be protected especially during a hearing. I am glad it wasn't a knife or a gun. Great pictures by the way, as always!!

I'm afraid I just can't muster any sympathy for Rupert Murdoch, but I am impressed by his wife's reaction (and quick reflexes) to yesterday's incident. It definitely changed my opinion of her.

Now to your pics... Lovely post as always. That Celine bag is scrumptious!

Yes, we're hearing about the drama over here in the States too. Mud-slinging in public is always sad. Nevertheless, you've got a well-dressed and well-heeled crowd hanging out at Westminster.

I absolutely agree. Other people's opinions, even if they are drastically different to yours ought to be respected and the person must never be attacked.

On the note of fashion, I adore the worn Hermes and have a current obsession with the Celine! So well done for getting two of my favourite bags together in one post

LOVE the bags. Have hated Rupert Murdoch since Mike Royko ditched the Sun Times in order to avoid being contaminated by him.

Can't say I share your sympathy. Much as I admire Mrs. Murdoch's smackdown, I have to say that he's lucky it was just a cream pie. If I were the wife or mom of one of the hackees, I would have knocked his false teeth out of his mouth.
