Contemplation

The moment I saw this picture on The Photodiarist, words came rushing to me. After commenting, the next ten minutes were spent writing these words down as I looked at it.

Then I asked to borrow it and gladly it was granted by the owner. I did this so as to add the words that came to me as I presumed which thoughts were going through his head when it was taken...

Prisoner Of Words Unsaid...

"A place to spend my quiet nights,
time to unwind so much pressure in this life of mine,
I cried many times once contemplated suicide but wouldn't try when all I could see was my loved ones' eyes."

" No one knows my struggle, they only see the trouble.
not knowing is hard to carry on when no one loves you."

"Picture me inside the misery of poverty,
no man alive has ever witnessed the struggles I survive.
There's no fairytales for this young black male,
some see me stranded in this land of hell, jail and cracksales.
Selling my soul for material wishes- fast cars and jewels.
Wishing I live my life a legend immortalised in pictures..."

"I pray so hard for better days I promise to hold on.
Am I a victim of things I did to maintain?
I need a place to rest with the few homeboys that remain coz the rest are dead."

"I guess I'm a prisoner of words unsaid."
