The Ghost, The Truth and The Details.

The meticulous attention to detail that is characteristic of all Roman Polanski's films is evident in his latest and may be last directorial masterpiece The Ghost adapted from Robert Harris' bestseller.

This is old school film making as it comes. It does not come any better than this. For example, on the first day of shooting, the cast and crew went 22 hours straight and this is a man that's nearly 80 years old.

Everybody brought their 'A-game' to this project. Everything from the music score(which I think should win an Oscar), to the location(shot on a remote location in Germany), to the casting was excellently excecuted.

Forget the Kim Catrall of Sex And The City- fame, this is a different one, her accent and speech pattern are exquisite and so is her wadrope.

Pierce Brosnan shines as the disgraced ex-British PM Adam Lang that's under investigation by the international war crimes court in The Hague.

Ewen McGregor brings his A-game too as the ghost writer of Adam Lang's soon-to-be-released memoirs that discovers The Truth in the former ghost's draft.

And to top it all off, Olivia Williams outshines everyone as the dark horse in the form of Lang's wife Ruth whose character is a no-nonsense-straight-talking-cut-the-'malakey' kind of woman that holds the key to this whole plot.
And of course not forgetting Tom Wilkinson as Professor Paul Emmett.

Putting aside his troubles, Polanski is a master at his game and this project is a challenge to the plodding literalism of mordern film making, as rigidly enforced by the status quo in the name of 'commerciability' for a lack of a better word. I do urge everyone to go see it.

On the hand, I do get mental pains looking at things that haven't been properly excecuted. The truth always lies in the details just like in The Ghost.
Speaking of details and proper excecutions, here are some examples of well thought out outfits.

You have such a great eye for uncommon but absolutely cool details. Love the multiple watches in the second photo, that cool greige skirt in the 5th photo and that plaid wrap (and I normally hate plaid) in the last three.

LOVE IT!
I completely appreciate attention given to details when it comes to putting an outfit together...it's a skill for sure.
I think a unique ring, like ones you've shown here, is a great punctuation mark to a fab outfit.
Thanks for the comment on my blog ;)
